How To Paint The Wood Floor

how to paint the wood floor

Painting a wood floor is a less demanding task than refinishing it with clear finish, but as is true for every decorating job, you get the best results if you use good methods. proper preparation is key, and that includes making necessary repairs. you don't have to sand off the old finish, but you do have to scuff it to ensure the new paint. 3. beginning on the opposite side of the room from the door, paint the entire floor with a base coat of the lighter of your two colors. cut in the edges of the floor with a paintbrush. then coat the entire field with a roller. 4. let the paint dry completely at least overnight. apply second coat if needed. 5.. Use a paint brush to cut the edges of the floor with paint. i usually paint about 2-3 inches of the wood floor (from the wall) around the entire room. this makes it super easy to use the roller to finish the job a little later on. if the moldings are in place, make sure that the painting tape is secured properly..
